The 4510 Series Standard Duty Deadlatch offers adaptable traffic control during and after business hours. Its function allows for two-way traffic in healthcare, financial institutions, retail, and other settings that need free entrance at specific times and exit-only at others. By reversing the key turn while the bolt is held back, the bolt remains retained, enabling interchangeability with any MS1850S Deadlock of the same backset and faceplate shape. However, it doesn't provide the same peak security level as the MSDeadlock. Operation involves turning the key or using a handle/paddle to retract the spring-loaded latchbolt. To keep the bolt retracted, push it in and secure with a reverse key turn. The lock accommodates any standard mortise cylinder with an MS cam, available separately, and accepts cylinders from either or both sides.
